A Summer Solstice woodland wedding at Hobbit Hill

Updated: Jul 13, 2021

My second wedding of 2021 took me to the brand new venue of Hobbit Hill in Clitheroe. This was my first time shooting a wedding at Hobbit Hill and I hope there'll be many more to come, because WOW what a venue! The woodland ceremony area with festoon lights draped from the trees, the beautiful light and airy barn, the countryside views stretching for miles and access to a gorgeous river for photos... it really is a dream venue! And it was the perfect setting for the magical Summer Solstice wedding of Hannah and Sean.

This lovely laid back couple had the most beautiful and relaxed day surrounded by their friends and family. Despite having to postpone their wedding and the restrictions still in place at the time meaning they had to tweak their plans last minute, they still pulled off an absolute beauty of a day. Hannah wore the prettiest floaty lace dress from Wed2B, and with a crown of gypsophila in her hair she looked like a woodland fairy queen! Hannah's aunty, the incredibly talented Sarah of Flower Shack by Sarah, provided the gorgeous flowers for Hannah's bouquet and around the venue.

The barn at Hobbit Hill looked absolutely beautiful inside and was decorated with gorgeous florals and lots of personal homemade touches.

After saying their vows amongst the trees and twinkly lights, they celebrated the rest of their day with a VW campervan, a mega BBQ, crepes and my favourite thing of all - a paddle in a canadian canoe! I absolutely LOVED capturing these river photos for Hannah and Sean. I always bring wellies along to my weddings just in case and they definitely came in handy here!

I also got to ride in the front seat of the camper -SO MUCH FUN (bit bumpy though)!

We took two trips down to the river for couple photos - the first with the camper and the second later on in the evening for a paddle in the canoe. It's a great idea to have two shorter couple sessions if you can; the first to capture the giddy "we just got married!" excitement, and the second to get those gorgeous loved up evening photos when you're feeling more relaxed and the light is pretty.

The evening sun started to peep through the clouds just as Hannah and Sean danced away with their guests outside the barn. The music drifted across the fields at Hobbit Hill as I was leaving and it was lovely to look back and see everyone dancing and having a wonderful time as the evening light was fading.

Congratulations to Hannah on Sean and thank you so much for having me along to capture your magical woodland wedding!
