Best of 2020

There's no denying it, this year has been a strange one. I had deliberated over whether to do a "Best Of" round up this year, but my lovely followers on Instagram said I must, so here it is! I'm glad I spent some time putting this blog post together, because it's reminded me what a lovely time I've had taking photos throughout 2020. Although I only had a handful of shoots this year, I've loved every minute I've spent with my camera. It's actually kept me going through the uncertainty of the pandemic and reminded me why I love what I do.

From the September sunshine of a York Register Office micro-wedding, to a hazy sunset engagement shoot on Bamford Edge, my camera has seen some absolutely dreamy moments this year. I'm so grateful for all the opportunities I've had and the wonderful couples who've put their trust in me to capture these special moments in their lives.

I can't wait to see what 2021 has to offer, but without any further ado, here's my best of this crazy year just passed.

- Ellie and Pedro -

Sheffield City Centre Wedding

My first wedding of the year was the lovely Ellie and Pedro's city centre elopement. These guys rearranged their big wedding plans last minute, and married in a tiny ceremony in their beloved Sheffield. We had so much fun visiting some iconic spots around the city and snapping some fab photos!

Bamford Edge Engagement Shoot

A real highlight of my year, this engagement shoot took me to Bamford Edge on an absolute scorcher of an August evening. It was one of those shoots where everything came together just as I'd hoped! The sunset was incredible and the views across the hazy valley below was the stuff of dreams.

Danby Moor Styled Shoot

Next up was my first styled shoot that took place on the epic North Yorkshire Moors. I'm just sharing a sneaky snippet from this as I'll be blogging it fully at a later date!

- Jonny & Siobhan -

Lichfield Registry Office Wedding

My first of two September weddings, this lovely pair got married in the lovely city of Lichfield, surrounded by a handful of their nearest and dearest. We had a lovely time exploring the pretty streets and hidden gardens around the registry office following their ceremony. These guys were so much fun to photograph and I just adored Siobhan's summery wildflower bouquet!

- Charlotte & Ashley -

York Register Office Wedding

These guys married on a gorgeously sunny September afternoon in York. Following a wonderful ceremony at York Register Office, we headed off for a little walk around this beautiful city to snap some photos. These guys had to overcome quite a few hurdles to make their wedding happen, but when the day came it was just perfect and so full of love and happiness. It was such an honour to capture this lovely little wedding!

I hope you've enjoyed my round up of 2020! I feel so lucky that, despite everything, I've still had the opportunity to capture some beautiful elopements and mini weddings. These couples have really proved that small can be just as beautiful. Thanks so much to the beautiful people who put their trust in me to capture these precious moments for them. I've loved every minute of being your photographer. Thank you to everyone who has supported my work on Instagram, followed my posts and kept me going throughout 2020.

I can't wait for the fun times that 2021 has in store and have everything crossed for my couples that your weddings will go ahead in all their glory! It's going to be fabulous and I can't wait to capture it all for you.

Much love, Laura x
